🪔 Jai Pal Samaj — serving our community across India & the diaspora
About Us · Mission & Values

What we are for, and what we will not do

A samaj that cannot say plainly what it stands for will be pulled apart by whoever shouts loudest. So here it is, in writing.

Our mission

To make our community’s size count for something

We are many. Spread out, we are individually invisible. Gathered, we can educate our children, open doors for each other abroad, and stand behind any family that falls on hard times.

  • Keep a free, permanent register of Pal families in India and the diaspora.
  • Fund the education of our children — girls first where funds are limited.
  • Give honest, unpaid guidance on studying and working abroad.
  • Bring our families together in person, regularly.
  • Preserve what is ours: our history, our festivals, our language and our food.
Our values

Five commitments we intend to be judged on

🤝

Unity before ego

No faction, no family and no office-bearer is bigger than the samaj. Positions here are work, not status.

📖

Education above all

If we must choose between a grand event and a child’s school fees, the fees win. Every time.

🪔

Culture without exclusion

We honour our traditions and welcome every Pal family — whatever their region, means or spelling of the surname.

🧾

Accounts in the open

Every rupee that comes in is reported back to members. Nobody should have to ask.

🛡️

Your details stay ours

The directory sits behind a sign-in so families can share with the samaj without sharing with the internet.

Just as important

What we will not do

  • We will not take a political side. Members vote as they wish; the samaj does not campaign.
  • We will not charge for membership. Not now, not later.
  • We will not sell or share your data. No lists, no brokers, no advertisers.
  • We will not claim credit we have not earned. If a fund does not exist yet, we say so.
  • We will not take a commission on any job, visa or admission we help with.
If you ever find us falling short of one of these, write to the committee and say so plainly. That is the whole point of putting it in writing.
