Twelve seats, earned — not given
The Executive Committee is being formed now. This page will name every person who holds a role, and exactly what they are answerable for.
Most community organisations fail the same way: one person does everything until they are exhausted, and nobody else really knows what is going on. We are trying to avoid that from the start by writing the roles down before we fill them.
Who started this
Sarvesh Pal · Founder
Started PalSamaj.org from New York in 2026. Responsible for the platform itself until the Executive Committee is seated — after which the founder holds no special vote.
What each seat is actually responsible for
These are jobs with deliverables, not honorifics.
President
Chairs meetings, represents the samaj publicly, and is accountable to members for everything below.
Secretary
Keeps the record — minutes, decisions, membership register. If it was not written down, it did not happen.
Treasurer
Holds the accounts and publishes them to members. Every rupee in, every rupee out.
Education Secretary
Runs the scholarship: eligibility, review of applications, and payment direct to schools wherever possible.
Events Convenor
Sammelans, regional meet-ups and cultural programmes — dates, venues, and the people to run them.
Diaspora Coordinator
Keeps families in the USA, UK, Canada, the Gulf and Australia connected to each other and to home.
Welfare Officer
The first call when a family is in medical or financial trouble. Discreet by design.
Youth & Careers Lead
Mentoring, study-abroad guidance, and the referral network that gets our graduates a first break.
Four working members
No portfolio, full vote. They carry the work that does not fit neatly under a title — which is most of it.
One of these seats could be yours
You do not need money or a well-known surname. You need to turn up, and to finish what you start.
