How we treat each other here
Short version: behave as you would at a family gathering where your elders can hear you.
What we ask of every member
Be respectful
Disagree with ideas, never abuse people. No insults about region, sub-caste, means, appearance or family.
Be honest
Use your real name and accurate details. Do not impersonate anyone or misrepresent your circumstances.
Protect privacy
Do not post another person’s photograph, phone number, address or messages without their permission.
Keep it appropriate
This is a family space. Members of every age and every generation read it.
What does not belong here
- Abuse, threats, harassment or bullying of any member.
- Hate speech, or content demeaning any caste, religion, region or gender.
- Political campaigning. Members vote as they wish; the samaj does not campaign.
- Sexual, obscene or violent content of any kind.
- Requests for money, fundraising appeals, or soliciting loans from members.
- Commercial advertising and spam unrelated to the samaj.
- Anyone else’s personal information, published without consent.
- Content that is unlawful, or that infringes someone’s copyright.
- Anything that puts a child at risk.
How this is enforced
Member submissions — event photographs, stories, listings — are reviewed before publication. Anything already published may be removed if it breaks these guidelines.
Depending on what happened, we may issue a warning, remove content, suspend an account, or remove it permanently. Serious matters — threats, fraud, anything involving a child — skip straight to removal, and we cooperate with the police.
