🪔 Jai Pal Samaj — serving our community across India & the diaspora
Matrimony · Safety

Nobody here has been checked. Please read this

We do not verify profiles. That makes your own judgement the only real protection you have, so here is how to use it well.

Why this matters more on a samaj site, not less. Because we are your own community, people lower their guard here. “They are Pal family” feels like a reference. It is not one. Treat a profile on PalSamaj.org exactly as carefully as you would treat one on any commercial site.
Before you talk

Verify independently

Everything on a profile was typed in by the person themselves. None of it has been checked by anyone.

Identity

Ask for a video call early. Photographs can belong to anybody. Someone who avoids a video call for weeks is telling you something.

Marital status

Ask directly, and ask the family. A previous marriage or an ongoing one is among the most commonly hidden facts in matrimonial fraud.

Education & employment

Degrees and jobs are easy to claim. Ask which institution, which year, which employer. Confirm independently where you can.

Family

Speak to the family, not only the individual. In our community this is normal and expected — use it.

Money

The rule that prevents most harm

Never send money to anyone you have met through this or any matrimonial service. Not for a visa. Not for a medical emergency. Not for a business difficulty. Not as a gift, a loan, or to prove sincerity. There is no legitimate reason a prospective match needs your money before marriage.
  • Never share bank details, card numbers, UPI PINs, OTPs or passwords. Nobody genuine will ever ask.
  • Be wary of anyone who moves quickly to money troubles, however sympathetic the story.
  • Be wary of anyone abroad who cannot meet, cannot video call, and needs help with a fee or a customs charge.
  • If you are asked for money, stop, and report the profile to us.
Meeting

The first few meetings

1

Tell your family where you are going

Who you are meeting, where, and when you expect to be back. Every time, not just the first time.

2

Meet in a public place

A restaurant, a hotel lobby, a family home with others present. Never a private residence alone, never a hotel room, not at the start.

3

Arrange your own travel

Go and return under your own arrangements. Keep your phone charged.

4

Leave whenever you want to

You owe nobody an explanation, a second meeting, or politeness at your own expense. Discomfort is a sufficient reason.

Warning signs

Stop if you notice these

  • Refuses video calls, or the camera never quite works.
  • Pushes for marriage very fast, before families have met.
  • Asks for money, gifts or financial help in any form.
  • Wants to move the conversation off the platform immediately.
  • Pressures you for photographs you are not comfortable sharing, or threatens you with ones you already sent.
  • Details keep shifting — job, city, family, age.
  • Discourages you from involving your family.
  • Becomes angry or abusive when questioned.
If someone threatens to share your photographs or messages, that is a criminal offence in India and in most countries. Do not pay them. Keep the evidence, tell your family, report it to us, and go to the police.

Report anything that feels wrong

You do not need proof and you will not be judged. A quiet word from you may protect another family in our samaj.
